Club President- an outgoing personality, good communication skills, strong leadership and delegation skills. As Club President, he is  responsible for overall club direction and management and his position entails an important role model for all members with some of his duties including the following tasks:

Ø       To be a supportive leader for all organisational members;

Ø       Guide the other officers in the commission of their duties and represent the club at official functions;

Ø      Set overall annual committee agenda;

Ø      Prioritise committee goals;

Ø      Facilitate effective management committee meetings;

Ø      Preside at all official club meetings;

Ø      In the event of a tied vote, the president has an additional casting vote.

 

Club Vice-President-   has good communication skills and strong leadership and delegation skills. As Club Vice-President, he is  responsible for assisting the President in overall club direction and management.

 

Secretary- has good organisation skills and excellent communication skills and is able to maintain confidentially on relevant matters. Kerrie is responsible for the club’s administration and some of her duties include the following:

 

Ø      Be a coordination link between members, the management committee and  outside agencies;

Ø      Keep safe custody of all books and documents belonging to the club;

Ø      Keep committee meeting minutes and distribute to club members;

Ø      Prepare an annual general report on the affairs of the club for presentation and consideration at the AGM.

Ø      Be responsible and subject to the direction of the committee.

Ø      Keep the Branch informed of the club’s activities, including forwarding the Annual Reports and Financial Statements.

 

Treasurer-  is honest and willing to assist the club and its members with her knowledge of accounting and book keeping. The purpose of this position is to manage the clubs finances, and to make recommendations to the committee on the expenditure of club funds as follows:

Ø        Receive and bank club moneys;

Ø        Pay approved accounts and other approved expenditure;

Ø        Prepare monthly reports on the state of the clubs finances.

Ø        Keep an accurate account of all monies paid and received.  Prepare and have audited, an annual set of financial statements to be presented to the AGM in accordance with the Incorporations Act;

Ø        Receive all member registrations and forward details to the Branch for Branch affiliation.

 

Head Coach-  is  friendly, approachable and willing to assist the club and its members with his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. His duties as coach include some of the following:

  Ø        responsible for coordinating fitness and coaching for the Club

  Ø         d iscuss objectives, methods, programs and problems with interested

              members and report to the Committee with recommendations;

  Ø         liaise with the Branch Fitness and Coaching Director;

  Ø        s upply instructive information to the publicity officer for inclusion in the club

              newsletter, when considered to be beneficial to members; and

  Ø       to be subject to the direction of the Committee.

 

Club Safety Officer-  is  willing to assist the club and its members for the purpose of ensuring that the club follows the safety guidelines as set out by the National Safety Committee and maintains a minimum safety standard during all club AUSSI activities. Some of his duties include the following:

  Ø       distribute information on safety aspects of swimming to club members as

       approved by the National Safety Committee;

  Ø       establish and maintain an up-to-date medical at risk register of swimmers

             (copies should be distributed to Coaches and Branch Safety Coordinator)

  Ø       provide an annual safety report to the Branch Safety Coordinator;

  Ø       ensure the club meets have minimum medical coverage;

  Ø       encourage and assist swimmers in obtaining life saving awards.

  Ø    record incidents, complete Injury Report forms and forward forms to the

             Branch Safety Coordinator.

 

Club Recorder-  is proficient in using computer software to help assist the club and its members with the purpose of this position to record club member swim times in the approved AUSSI software and to determine records broken. Other duties included in this position are to:

      Ø       keep records and coordinate all times swum by members at                
                championships, postal swims, aerobic and time trial swims;

  Ø       prepare a summary of club members efforts at the end of each year.

 

Club Publicity Officers-  are clear thinkers with a flare for putting together fun and interesting facts for the Club Newsletter. This position is also required to make available any photographs, information and items of interest of AUSSI members and events to the webmaster for inclusion in the Club website.

 

Club Captains-  have the honourable role to assist the committee/fellow members to operate a very successful AUSSI Club and to have a lot of fun. The purpose of this position is to organise relay teams at swim meets, and to be a source of information for novice swimmers with some of their duties to include the following:

  Ø       Appoint and organise relay teams at swimming championships;

  Ø      Be a point of information for swimmers at a swim meets.

Social Committee- These fun loving members have the  role to provide social functions for club members.  The functions can range from annual dinners, presentation nights, championship social functions, general social activities, etc.

 

The social group with the assistance of other club members is required to organise social events throughout the year.

 

Committee Members – have good communication skills and are supportive representatives for the non-committee members of the Club. As Club Committee representatives they are responsible for assisting the President and Committee in overall club direction and management.
